EQUIPMENT GUIDE

My Items

#1 ValleyLab Force FX

For our number one pick we recommend the ValleyLab Force FX. This has been the primary surgical workhorse for the past decade, and because of its abundant presence, is the most easily sourced, affordable, serviceable, and reliable.

Most surgeons should be very familiar with using this device in the field.

Make sure you have a reusable grounding pad, and reusable cautery tip, and power conditioner for the machine.

When we deploy the systems, we always make sure to pair them with a reusable grounding pad, reusable cautery electrodes, and a high-quality power conditioner.

#2 Conmed Hyfrecator 2000

The Hyfrecator 2000 is tied with our number one choice, but for small office and clinical situations. This small office cautery device is also very common, reliable, and has been a workhorse for primary care situations for many years.

You will need to separately purchase the disposable electrodes that come with the device. It is also worth mentioning that the settings can go up to even 35 W on high-power with the ability for bipolar.

#3 Bovie A2350

For brand-new devices we recommend the Bovie A2350. Bovie is a trusted and reliable brand that has been in the business of making cautery for many years.

In terms of buying new, it is the best in terms of price and performance. While we mostly receive and donate used ValleyLab Force cautery devices and typically purchase the Hyfrecator 2000 units, purchasing a brand-new Bovie is significantly higher in price, ranging from $5000-$8000 for a complete system.
